In the past making bread was a long arduous process that involved mixing a multitude of ingredients up and kneading them until dough was made. Following this, you would have to put the dough into a pan and into the oven.
The dough would have to be checked on throughout the day and would take hours on end to cook. Ovens would put off lots of heat and in the summer time, kitchens would become almost unbearably hot.
The bread maker changed all of this. As you’ll see when we get to my bread machine reviews, a modern bread maker kneads the bread for you.
It then cooks the bread to the perfect temperature and drops the yeast in at the perfect time. This means that five minutes of preparation will give you a delicious loaf of bread.
Of course the bread does need to cook for two to five hours, but you do not need to be there baby sitting it while it does. Also, some bread makers have a timer on them so that you can set it to start at a specified time.
This means that you can set your bread maker to go off while you are sleeping so that you can wake up to tasty bread each morning.
The best breadmaker for you will have everything you need to conveniently make bread.
Another thing you’ll find when reading my bread machine reviews is that buying a bread maker will save you money. This is especially true if you like to eat whole wheat bread.
Instead of paying three dollars for a loaf of whole wheat bread, you can make one in your bread maker for around fifty cents. You may even find that you can do it for less money by buying whole wheat flour in bulk. Other than the bread maker, you’re only initial investments will come in the form of a bread slicer or bread knife and maybe a container to hold your bread in.

The Panasonic SD-YD250 Automatic Bread Maker
This machine is my personal favorite and is number one on my list of bread machine reviews. I use it to make whole wheat sandwich bread at least two times a week, but sometimes more.
What I like about it is that it has a special button for making whole wheat bread and it helps make the bread come out perfect every time.
It is also incredibly easy to clean and comes with all of the accessories needed to add the ingredients to the bread maker. After buying this bread maker, you won’t have to buy anything else other than what you plan on putting in your bread.
I take the pan out of the bread maker, pull the kneading piece out of it and throw it in the dishwasher. Both of these pieces are metal and nothing seems to stick to them, so they don’t need to be scrubbed.
These are the only two pieces of the machine that need to be cleaned. This was very important to me since I did not want to save money only to find that I was wasting lots of time doing it. Over all, my expectations have been greatly exceeded, and I’m very pleased I bought this product.
The Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme 2-Pound-Loaf Breadmaker
Although I’ve personally never used this Zojirushi machine, I’ve included it in my bread machine reviews, because I know how great the brand is. Also, I seriously considered purchasing it, but ended up going with the less expensive Panasonic.
What attracted me to this machine was both the look of it and the extra functionality that this machine provides. It is a stainless steel machine and would look great in a kitchen that is more modern than the one I currently have.
Also, the machine gives you the ability to bake cake, pizza dough, and even meat loaf inside of it. I’m convinced that with this machine and a good toaster oven, a person wouldn’t ever need to buy an actual oven for their kitchen. (this assumes this person didn’t plan on making Thanksgiving dinner)
The drawback for me was the fact that this bread maker was almost twice the cost of the Panasonic, and even though the extra features are great, I personally would probably never use them.
All in all, you can’t go wrong with the Zojirushi or the Panasonic.
